What colleges are you attending UCI over?

just list the colleges you are not attending that are generally ranked above UCI.

Well I'm a second year student now but when it was decision time for me I picked it over UCSD and Berkeley.

yackityack why do you choose UCI over berkeley and san diego?

I got in for Spring semester at Berkeley and UCI offered me a nice scholarship. It was a good call for me, although I'm sure it would have been cool at Berkeley too.

yackityack i am in the exact same situation as you right now, except i still didnt decide which college to attend
how do you like UCI, and do you regret not attending berkeley?

Although SB is lower ranked than irvine, SB has better business / economics programs. i guess i just like Irvine better overall. its a nice city.

Since when is SB ranked lower than Irvine?

it has always been !

I think collegemom has a grudge against UC Irvine

same here, dont hate on the chinese lol

I am choosing UCI over UCSD and CAL POLY SLO (I don't know if it's better)

I don't hate on any race. You don't know what race I am. What I don't care for is the attitude of those who claim UCI is better than UCSB or UCD when in fact they are considered to be in the same middle tier. To each their own. Nor Cal is cool. Peace out. LOL

But you always claim that UCD is better than UCI or UCSB when they are in fact considered to be in the same middle tier! Are you Davis alumni by any chance?

And amiradaprincess I could never choose UCSD over Irvine. I'm a little biased because my boyfriend goes there but props to yah for getting in and then rejecting them! :)

I don't make any claim without giving a link or some facts. Are you a UCI student? If I give an opinion, I say it is my opinion. If you feel that UCI is the best, go to it, just don't state it as a fact. I think that all the UC's have their strengths and weaknesses, but Nor Cal > So Cal. LOL :)

im from norcal but headed to socal hell yeah

Well yeah so maybe I did jump to conclusions, sorry collegemom. It's just that I notice your posts are usually very pro-Davis.

--> collegemom generally stating that UCD has the power to rule over the UC system

Forgive me those are some stretches. Oiy there are actually alot of posts but I'll admit, I'm a little lazy to search for them. I'm actually not a UCI student but I am leaning more towards it. But if you search through my posts you can see that I don't really go around praising UCI though, so I think it would be difficult to make the assumption that I am an anteater. I'm just really interested how people can be so different at each university. It's kinda cool how we can choose how we want to be shaped. Like, if I went to Davis, I might turn into a small town girl. Whoa, that'd be crazy :)

Well thanks for that first link because I was just looking for it to post in another place! Go Aggies!

and, yes I am a proponent of UCD, because I love it there. IMHO The links I posted were not written by me, just information provided by me. ;)

If you met my D who will be going to UCD next year you would hardly call her a small town girl though. LOL

Good luck to you blinkblink in your decision, and have I told you anything about UCD before??? JK JK <3

Ucsd!!!!!!

sonci powr:

I don't regret not going to Berkeley at all. There are so many things that I like about my experience here at UCI (not to mention the better financial situation I'm in, and being able to start as a UCI student in the Fall). Also, I got into the Campuswide Honors Program which provides me with lots of opportunities and I suppose looks "prestigious" (which is what all the college confidential people love to talk about) to an extent, although the most important thing is always gunna be what you do in college.

In all honesty, if I had decided to go to Cal, I would probably be happy there too and I'm definitely not going to knock it. But for me I'm glad that I made the choice to go to UCI. ZOT!

I chose UCI over Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, Brown, Notre Dame, and USC. Don't regret it for a second...the only thing I missed out on at UCI was a good sports program...but I more than made up for it in grad school.
