What Colleges Can I Apply For Next Yr?

I am a high school junior with an gpa of 2.3 or an average of 77.9%, I took my first SAT's this may and only got a 1370, i plan to retake it next year. I have already began to take college credit classs ( College English 101 & Political Science 1.51) at brooklyn college through the College Now program. I was wondering what colleges would i be able to apply for with my current stats, preferably CUNY or SUNY schools to insure my college now credits transfer with me.

SUNY-Geneseo is in my opinion the best school in the SUNY system for undergrads but you probably won’t get in

look at CUNY-Hunter, Baruch, Brooklyn or Queens

and maybe look at community college to get your grades up

You may want to look at the Cuny’s, but I’m not sure if you’ll get in. You may want to start off at a community college.

SATs are CR + math only
school, SAT 25th percentile, SAT 75th percentile, SAT midpoint

are their any community colleges in NY state that offer dorms? Going to a community college for like my first 2 yrs to bring my gpa wouldnt really be a problem but living a home might be

Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY

Is Monroe any good? I’ve read mixed reviews on some sites about it

Time to ask yourself what the problem is. And change it…

With an gpa of 2.3 or an average of 77.9% why are you taking college classes? You should be taking the hardest classes you can get great grades in not just the hardest classes that someone will allow you to take.

Nothing wrong with a CC. Do you have any idea what you want to do for work? Office work / outdoors / retail - whatever. You might just find that as you start to get closer what you want in life, that grades come much more easily because you will see a purpose in what your doing.

Well see my high school, in NYC, started us of with more regents class earlier on towards 9th grade so that when we become seniors, we’ll only have like 2 high school classes per day (English & gym) and then the rest of they day you would have free to take college classes.

Right now I’m interested in Journalism, Law & Computers

Well gym isn’t going to help your GPA…

Journalism and Law are going to care about your GPA…

Any chance you aced your computer classes…

Is your guidance counselor any help??? Hang in there…

Unfortunately i did not(any probably will not) have any computer classes since they mostly offer it to the tenth grades as an elective credit and i was given creative writing. Would i be able to head to a CC for 2 years, raise my gpa and then move to a law school or a journalism based college?

If you raise your GPA high enough in CC you can go on to most State Flagship colleges. But high enough is whats needed…
