Features in a School I'm Looking For:
Academic strength in fields I'm interested in
Freedom to take lots of electives/courses for fun (so, open curriculum)
Urban OR suburban setting (prefer traditional campus in large city OR college town) - no rural
Location: East, California, Chicago
Cost: not an issue, will apply for aid

Some suggestions please? Any would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t think you understand what Cost as an issue means. The fact you will have to apply for aid means cost IS an issue. If your family were wealthy enough to pay for any school cost would NOT be an issue.

Look at some of the schools on this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html?highlight=guaranteed
