Hey guys, I wanted to know what colleges you think I should be applying to. Ill probably attend a UC since I live in California.

Here is a link to a picture of my transcripts. http://postimg.org/image/ovjdt2l8t/

Teachers have not inputted 2nd semester's grades yet but I will most likely have 1 or 2 Bs, but most likely the AP test scores will give me a grade bump so I'll most likely have 1 or 0 Bs.

Assuming I score a 2000+ on the SAT this Saturday

My ECs are weak: baseball 2 years, FBLA 4 years (state all years)(officer 2 years), not much community service. I mean I play guitar along with some other things I'm fairly skilled at (ex: programming) but how would colleges know?
(I live in the valley so opportunities are limited unless you want to grow corn)

I'm looking to major in Computer Science or EE, something along those lines.

So where do you think I should apply, and what classes would you recommend I take next year? I'm not taking AP Eng Lit for sure. Im thinking:

AP Env Sci
AP Physics
AP Calculus AB
Regular Gov/Econ
World Lit
Undecided (baseball/another ap?/finite math?)

I will have 6 years of math (possibly 7), but only 2 years foreign language.

Thanks for your input!

That is too little information for us to offer you any recommendations. For instance, do you want a small school or a large school or something in between? Do you need financial aid? Would you like to venture out of the west coast? Do you want an overwhelmingly liberal student body? etc etc

A medium-large school. Financial aid is not a necessity. And most likely would stay in west coast.

You could try to get into Stanford, University of San Diego, or Chapman University

Once you have your final junior-year grades and test scores, you can calculate your UC-weighted GPA. That will be all-important for determining your chances at various UC campuses. We really can’t begin to speculate on your chances without that information. Stanford is an extreme reach for even applicants with perfect grades and scores. It doesn’t sound as if it’s a realistic prospect for you. Computer Science and Engineering are two of the most selective, “impacted” departments within the UC and Cal State/Poly systems. We really need to know your actual GPA and test scores for meaningful comments. It sounds as if you should have a good chance at most UCs other than Berkeley and UCLA (and possibly UCSD in your departments), and at Cal Poly if your Math scores are high. If your stats are somewhat lower, you might need to expand your list to include Arizona State, UAZ, University of Oregon, and more Cal State campuses.

I’d apply to UCLA, Berkeley (L&S CS to be safe), and other good CS/EE schools- potential reaches would be MIT and Stanford as well as Caltech and Cornell, a high match would be Carnegie Mellon (for CS, they heavily look at math strength). UCSD also has a decent CS program. RPI could be another match-level school.
