What Colleges Have the Most SCHOOL SPIRIT?

that basically sums up my question..

thanks in advance!!

Privates:

Notre Dame
USC
Duke

Publics:

Ohio State
Michigan
UNC
Penn State
. . . most Big 10/SEC/ACC state universities have great school spirit

^recent thread on school spirit. Hopefully this one doesn’t get run over by dookies and tar heels like the last one.

UNC

Any SEC school

Vanderbilt
Dook
Michigan/OSU/Penn State

Ohio State has too much.

If someone yells O-H at you, and you don’t yell I-O back, bad things happen.

Rice has a lot of college spirit, mainly between the different residential colleges. However, a lot of Rice students show up for the baseball games and wear Rice attire.

James Madison University has A TON of school spirit!!

Most D1 football/basketball schools: Rice, Vandy, Duke

Alabama…roll tide…and on it’s way for a 3-peat.

Many schools with good, or historically good, sports programs will have a lot of school spirit. UCLA (BB) USC (FB) Alabama (FB) Duke (BB) Florida (FB) Stanford (FB) etc. tOSU and Michigan are probably up there too, but I don’t keep up with sports enough to know what programs they’re good at.

Duke
Vanderbilt
FSU
Alabama
Wisconsin
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State

Emory’s football team is still undefeated. Just saying…

But seriously, any huge D1 residential school with a somewhat decent football or basketball team is likely to have a lot of spirit. Even in schools with poor sports many students take pride in going there regardless of how well attended the games are.

Typically, if a school has a football team that competes in once of the five major BCS conferences (SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big Twelve and Pac 12), it will typically have a lot of school spirit and an enthusiastic alumni base. This includes public schools (Michigan, Ohio State, USC, UCLA, UNC etc.) and a few elite private schools (Notre Dame, Duke, Boston College, Vandy etc.).

Big 10 schools

Notre Dame and schools in major sports conferences (with decent winning records) such as the Big 10, ACC, SEC, Pac10

Ohio State

All liberal arts colleges have great school spirit.

Michigan. The Block M is known worldwide. Wear Michigan gear around the globe and there is an excellent chance you will hear a, “Go Blue” from someone along the way. The amount and dispersal of alumni makes it so.

I would definitely say Notre Dame…kids in ND gear every day, football games are a huge deal, there’s a ton of cool traditions, and I’ve had entire conversations solely about how amazing the school is. Lots of love from alumni too…many undergrads find jobs and internships through the alumni network.
