As you can see, I involve very little in community service. Ones listed aboved are just very few hours. However, SSSA is sth like community service group that I join this year so I should have involve in Community Service a lot this year.

I've completed one essay about Hamlet already, my teachers say it is impressive. I still have to work on another essay for CUNY. I also complete short answer about activity and I think it is quite unique.

And these are univerisities I plan to apply for:

CUNY Macaulay-Hunter
Dickinson College
Fordham University
Pace University
Loyola University New Orleans
Iona College
Manhattan College
Manhattanville College
Stonybrook University
Birmingham Southern College

--- I apply every uni (except CUNY) in commonapp ---

Do you think what other colleges I should add? Which colleges I should take out from my list?

Major in Psychology. THANKS!

Your scores in reading and writing are a little low for some of the better colleges, although your math scores are outstanding. The competitive schools may worry about how well you will handle the reading and writing workloads in a psychology major. I do not think that you need to worry about community service. You are clearly an outstanding student, and the main concern will be that your English is lagging behind your math.

I am actually taking LA honors and got A- in my la general class. My english teacher also writes recommendation saying that I have great writing skill. Academically, I’ve done a great job in English, just my SAT sucks. Would that help?

Yes, that will help. Maybe your counselor can mention it in the letter. You should mention it in any interviews.

Your math score is awesome! congrats!

You’ll get accepted to Birmingham Southern. That is a very lovely school. The profs are very committed to their students and many live in campus faculty housing.

I think you’ll also get accepted to Loyola NO. Another very nice school!

I think you could also get accepted to some good state schools who won’t care that you don’t have community service. There are some that aren’t in the west or northeast that really want to increase their Asian numbers.

What kind of campus do you want? Small, Med, Large, spirited, laid-back, etc.

Is money no problem? If so, we can probably suggest some other schools.

Can you take the SAT again to try to bring up your other scores?

try Clemson :)

^^^^ Clemson is a beautiful school with good academics.

But, tell us what type of school do you want to go to?

oh… sorry, I didn’t come for a long time (I think nobody would come to see this thread anymore)

I actually do not really care about the size of schools. If you see from my list, it runs from BSC which has about 1000+ students to Hunter with 20000+ students.

I actually want to live in New York City, but yes, money is the problem. I have to get scholarship or find cheaper school with good academics

I just took another SAT yesterday but I think I’ve not done very well.

I actually want to live in some school that has school spirit. Maybe not much but I want to see people wearing t-shirt or sweater with school name. I’m always dreaming of wearing those kinds of thing since it doesn’t exist in my country.

Clemson by far has more school spirit than any of the school’s you listed, you’ll see people wearing Clemson apparel but you won’t see as many people wearing BSC or Hunter apparel haha

I’d look at Pitt. Great urban environment.

Temple, Northeastern, U Maryland-Baltimore County, and Syracuse amy also be good options.

Thank you for answering!

Totally agree with pierre about school spirit of Hunter haha
but I still wanna go there coz the price is quite low :)

any other suggestions?
