What colleges should I apply in MN, WI?

What colleges should I apply in MN, WI?

I am a junior and I currently have a 2.8 gpa, living in Minnesota.

My SAT grade was 1600/2400, (Reading + Math= 1110); ACT 24.

What are matches, reaches and safeties in Minnesota and Wisconsin?

Thanks a lot!

You Could just use the college search for that - collegeview.com.

Whitewater in Wisconsin sounds like it might be a good match for you. I’m a junior in Wisconsin and its an extremely popular pick for students with similar stats to yours, even many students who have better stats but just want to go there/didn’t want to go to Madison. UW Milwaukee would also most likely accept you, and would be a good pick if you’re looking to live in a bigger city. Sorry I don’t know much about Minnesota schools though.

Thanks a bunch!

I am not sure I can be accepted as in-state student if I apply UW Milwaukee.

I knew UW Madison accept MN students as in-state.

Both University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and University of Wisconsin-Madison are high reaches for you because of your low ACT score and GPA. You might get into Milwaukee…

Um and Madison are likely out of reach. Try both Duluth and Eau Claire as they are good schools. St Thomas if u can afford. Morris if you want a smaller but very very good school. U need to visit several for fit.

Your suggestions are very helpful.

Go to Mankato State increase your GPA then transfer in a year or two to U of MN. Also consider U of WI at Eau Claire or La Crosse. Please come back and let us know if you applied and what the results were. I have a daughter graduating next year and wants to go to U of MN so very interested in this years results.
