I apologize for posting another chances thread, but my curiousity has been eating away at me. I am currently a junior who is nervous about his future.

GPA: Freshman Year: 3.0 (UW)
Sophmore Year: 3.7 (UW)
Junior Year (What i currently have) 3.9 (UW)
I have taken about eight AP and Honor classes, and plan on taking 5 AP classes next year.

SAT: Verbal 710 Math 800 Writing 700 for a total of 2210

SAT II: I am going to take the IIC and U.S History test next month. I think I can get a 800 on both of these exams.

EC: I have over 200 hours of community service at a local hospital and am a member of a couple of clubs. I am also fairly active in my church, play golf, and the piano. None of my EC activities really stand out.

I am a first-generation Asian American who attends one of the top public schoos in the nation and lives in NOVA. I enjoy studying, reading, and am willing to work hard.

What are my chances at UVA, GW, and CMU?
Does my lackluster freshmen year really hurt my chances at a good school?
Could you guys also list a couple of schools that match my academic record?

when putting together your list, I would choose two from the top 10 as reaches, two from 11-20 as slight reaches, two from 21-30 as matches, & 2 any other schools as safety.

NOVA is probably over-represented on the east coast, and you are an ORM. Without exceptional EC's Ivy's will be a brutal reach.

Your SAT's are good for UVA, but it's hard to say if you'll get in unless you are in the top 10%.

GWU is a nice safety.

CMU's computer science is a reach. Engineering is a mid-reach (they like high math SAT) but MCS and the rest are matches. NOVA is definitely overrepresented at CMU, with all the TJ people.

With your stats you should diversify.Apply to a range of schools from top 20 to top 60. Good safeties/matches are in the 35-60 range: Case Western, Rochester, RPI, Lehigh. All are excellent for science&engineering if that's your thing.
