btw, i wanna go into premed or biomedical engineering

Hopkins is notoriously cutthroat and for its premeds to be academically intense. There is also a misconception of a lack of social life which I believe has picked up a lot in the past five years but there is somethings that are left to be desired. While its great for some, others might not like it. I'd recommend you check out the school first because Hopkins is internationally renown for its medical institutes, its medical school and hospital being #2 and #1 respectively and its premed program definitley among the top 3.

As for Biomedical engineering, I'd definitely recommend you check out Hopkins as its currently holds the best program in that section. Duke is another excellent choice for biomedical engineering. If you like sports culture and crazy frat scene.

to gigitusmaximus: 2280 because that seems realistic for me, 2300 seems daunting, but 2250 doesn't seem to be enough (considering my gpa is on the lower side)

Why are MIT and Stanford on your list if you said you weren't interested in those? Since your schools are spread out all over the country, I think it's worth saying that you should try to condense them a little. Make the green decision. I wouldn't include anything west of Rice (on your list twice by the way). All those flights really add up in costs. And think about moving there. How are you going to take all your stuff on the plane?

You should also add a few safeties. Look into Rutgers and TCNJ. Both are great public schools, and they're a good value for NJ residents.

Boston University's biomedical engineering program is ranked 7th in the nation, and you would have no problem getting in. Plus, they have a half-tuition engineering scholarship that you would be very eligible for.
