Hello, I am currently attending a CC (2nd year) and I am planning to transfer next fall. I am planning to transfer as a Computer Engineering Major. I talked to counselors and they said I should stay at a CC for 3 more years to finish all of ASSiST.org
Before I should transfer I should have my IGETC finished and more.
Right now my plan is to transfer to UC Berkeley but I will not be able to finish one of their math class because of time constraint.
My GPA is currently 3.80 and may be raised to a 3.90+ at the end of this semester
I am part of the Scholars' honors program , economic club, puente club, math club, scholars' honors club and a Senate for student government.
I also volunteer every sunday at a local church.
I am also currently taking extra classes on UDacity and Standford online classes
I have also done honor projects for English class and CIS class and taken several honor classes.
Where can I transfer with my gpa and my Ec's? I need a backup plan if I dont get into UC Berekely because I know it is highly competitive.

I have won regional botball competition when I was in high school and my SAT score is 1700+ (when I was in high school) which isn't very high.
Please recommend where I should apply? I fit well in any environment but not CC's!

UCs and CSUs generally prefer upper division transfers (those who have at least 60 transferable semester units or 90 transferable quarter units, plus completion of as many prerequisites listed in ASSIST as possible). High school grades and test scores are no longer relevant for upper division transfers at UCs and CSUs.

How long have you been at CC, how many transferable units do you have, and what courses have you taken for your major and other requirements (such as IGETC or breadth)?

Berkeley (L&S) CS only requires a year of freshman calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations for math courses. These typically take about a year and a half to complete, so it seems odd that you cannot complete them in two years before transfer.

By the end of spring I should have around 70 UC transferable units. With assist.org with my cc, it only requires Calc III. I am in pre-calc right now because my cc wouldn’t take my high school grades to clear me for pre-calc. Therefore in the spring, i shall be in Calc I and in the summer hopefully Calc II if my cc offers it. I did not take any math my first year because it was almost impossible to get in.

Apply and then you will have a decision to make. If you don’t apply, you won’t have a choice! Seem no reason for you to stay at a CC more than two years.
