Will do...I'm just gonna look more into that site (www.fairtest.org) and see if any schools interest me. I'll probably end up applying to 6 schools, 3 in which will require sending SATs and 3 where it will be optional.

Another few questions:

Will me being arabic (only half though) help at all in admissions?

I understand TCNJ is a reach for me, but if I applied with Early Decision, wouldn't that help my chances of being accepted?

Thanks for the replies in advance...

I do not want to give you any incorrect advice. I would check w your gc; he/she should be advising you anyway. I doubt that ed at TCNJ will get you in though bcs their ave. sat score 2 years ago was 1305 (old). Last year it climbed a few more points. ED and an URM I don't think will help that much. There are plenty of ppl wanting to go to TCNJ. I would check w your gc and let them tell you the stats of those that got in from your hs the last 2 years.

TCNJ is extremely selective, even with the 40-someodd-percent acceptance rate.

You need 1100 minimum on the math and verbal combined for UMASS undecided. For business you need higher than that.

I am no expert but I would think of Rutgers ( although I am not sure of requirements, one of the state schools of NY, Hofstra, U Hartford....

Massparent, Rutgers is strictly a #s school, so a lower gpa or sat will make entry tough.

MOOSE88 - definitely consider taking the ACT - may be a better test for you all way around - alot different from SAT - especially if you struggle with the SAT - would certainly be worth your while - nothing to loose - but may have lots to gain.

try richard stockton University

its near atlantic city, and much nicer than william patterson

Also try temple University

I just visited Temple again...I assure you it is not NEARLY as bad as people say it is. No one was running from the "boarded-up" buildings, nor did I hear gunshots/loud shouts/etc. while I was there.

Temple's CAMPUS is very nice. Some of the buildings were opened a couple of weeks ago, and still has that great "new builiding" smell. It is also EXTREMELY safe. Call-boxes are there and very close together. You see campus police everywhere. For an urban campus, theft and other petty crimes are relatively low.

As for Richard Stockton, I remember it being a little...secluded. The town of Galloway is, well, lacking in...life. But the campus itself is rather lovely.

I used barron. They are the bests!
I used for all of APs and SATs. they really do have great preps for that

Wow, haven't been on here for awhile. Anyway, just thought I'd update everyone who's helped me in the process on what schools I'll be applying to:

Penn State University Park (Application is out already and I'm waiting on a acceptance/rejection letter...Reach)

TCNJ (Still finishing up the application...Reach)

Montclair State University (Safety)

William Patterson University (Safety)

Still deciding on a 5th school...I already have 3 NJ schools and only one out of state school (PSU). I've been looking into Iona and it seems like a good school. Apparently, it has a great business program which helps me out.

If anyone can tell me my chances at Iona, that'd be great!

BUMP...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

considering your stats as is and not going for huge reaches, but some maybe reaches still:
Maybe- University of Tampa, George Mason U, Rider, Hofstra, Suny Buffalo

I've looked into some of those colleges...there were a few pros about them but the cons outweighed them.

Any info on Iona College? What are my chances?

Bump...same question as post before.

did you retake the SAT?

Yes...they get posted online on Monday so I'll know then if I did better or not.

BUMP once again...as I said before, any info that anybody could give on Iona College?
