What colleges would be a good fit for me?

It depends somewhat on the school’s economics department. For example, Pomona and Claremont McKenna both offer economics majors, but the course offerings listed in their course catalogs indicate that Pomona emphasizes economics as a liberal art (and with somewhat greater math emphasis available for pre-PhD students), while Claremont McKenna has a more pre-professional flavor (with courses like accounting and lots of finance electives).

Of course, a student at Pomona could still work in finance, while a student at Claremont McKenna could still go on to PhD study, even though their economics departments may not be optimized for their intentions (also, in this particular example, they could cross register at each other’s school).
