What colleges would be best for me by my grades & desires in a school?

I've been a CIT or Camp Counselor from the summer of 9th grade until the summer of 11th grade

I want a smallish school but still very prestigious. I also want it either somewhere around Florida or around New York. I'd say within a 3 hours on a plane is close enough. Money may be an issue so schools that give money would also be really helpful. If someone could answer two lists, one by what I can get into with my grades (say the SAT goes up to a 1350ish out of 1600 the second time) I'm very lost so it would mean a lot to me to recieve help...

If you improved you SAT significantly, or did well on the ACT, you'd have a shot pretty much anywhere. If not, I'm not sure.

UMiami and UFlorida are the most prestigious schools in the state, and you could most likely get in to both. Or if you don't mind looking a little bit further, Emory would be another good choice (extremely good academics, although I don't think they have a graphic design major). I'm not sure about Tulane's majors, but I'm going to recommend TU as well, simply because it's highly regarded and in the approximate area.

It's not quite New York, but American University would be good on both accounts (very strong pre-law, and a decent graphics program). I'm also going to suggest Syracuse and NYU, although they may be a big bigger than you'd prefer (most schools offering graphic design are larger).

Toss out any ideas about a pre-law major because it's decidedly neutral when evaluted by law schools. Law schools accept ANY major and they want to see good grades, without regard to major. If you have a genuine and thorough interest in law as an undergraduate, enroll in Sociology, Philosophy and Political Science courses. Northeast schools that can provide such a [fine] education are too numerous to list. In the southeast, consider Stetson University, Vanderbilt University, U of South Carolina, Sweet Briar College (women), Agnes Scott College (women), Emory University. I can't tell you about Graphic Design.

If you are serious about the double major thing, look at New School University. It's in NY City. You could take the design at Parsons, which is part of New School, and do the liberal arts at Eugene Lang. They encourage you to design your own program. That said, any good university or college with the arts courses that you want should also be able to fulfill your need for liberal arts courses that will help you with law school. Syracuse would be fine. Look at Boston University- it has an art school and certainly can work for prelaw. If your statistics were a little higher- Brown and Rhode Island School of Design have a combination program.

Maybe NYU. Very few prestigeous schools give merit aid (Duke). Those that do give it to kids with 2400s or close.
