Some match and reach colleges that have premed/biomed would be nice.
Please and thank you!

collegeboard.com has a great school finder, as does princetonreview .com and this site. You can enter your grades and test scores, your preferences for location, size, major, etc., and they will give you a list.

What state are you in?

What is your budget?

If you’re pre-med, don’t worry about bio-med or anything like that. You don’t need a major like that to get into med school.

“Some match and reach colleges that have premed/biomed would be nice.

In the US, you don’t major in ‘pre-med or bio-med.’ You can major in anything you like as long as you complete the admission requirements for medical school. Those requirements are usually one year of bio, one year of inorganic chem, one year of organic chem, one year of physics, and some require some amount of math and english as well. About 60% of pre-med students (don’t ask where I saw that stat- I don’t remember) major in a science, which means that 40% major in a social science or the humanities. So you can study whatever you want, as long as you complete the basic requirements. Admission to medical school, after you graduate, is based on GPA, MCAT scores, letters of recommendation, research and experience in a medical environment. Your state of residence can also have a large impact on how hard/easy it is to get admitted to your state school. Go to AMCAS and download the common application so you can see what schools are asking for.

As for recommending schools, there are hundreds where you can complete the admission requirements for medical school. Where you go doesn’t matter that much. What you need to figure out is what kind of school best fits your personal circumstances - basically, your ability to pay and your optimal educational environment. So use those school finders, mentioned above, and do some reading. When you have your criteria and a potential list of schools, come back to CC and get more help at that point.
