I am considering schools such as rutgers, university of Michigan, tufts university, John Hopkins, Villanova, Carnegie Mellon, Drexel, nyu.

My dream school is berkleley ( I know THATS a huge reach). My mom also wants me to apply to cornell and UPenn but I think she's being very unrealistic. What do you people think? Suggestions for colleges?

PLEASE CHANCE ME PEOPLE. Also considering an ED to JHU. Is this reasonable? I am planning on writing my college essay about why I want to enter this major. I want to because my brother has learning disabilities and both of my parents have extensive medical issues and have had many surgeries. Would that be okay?

APPLY

Seriously, try not to freak out too much about numbers. Focus more on who you are and what you have to offer. There is seriously no harm in applying. The worst that can happen is you don’t get accepted, whatever. I think you would be surprised on the types of students colleges accept. You’re numbers are high enough that they won’t immediately throw your application out, so work on representing you as a person. GOOD LUCK. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get accepted. Just go for it!

Okay thanks! I’d still love some input on the specific colleges I am considering

For Drexel, you’re a shoe in. Villanova and Carnegie I believe are appropriate matches. Your commitment to athletics will look good, along with volunteer hours. However, there isn’t really any other clubs or anything. I mean, I can see you’re in two clubs, but for the more elite schools, they may want more (even though obviously your time i tied up in sports). I wish you the best of luck, and apply to every school on your list anyway.

While UCB, Tufts, JHU, CMU are reaches for everyone, you are definitely in great shape for any of those schools!
For you getting into Villanova, Drexel and Rutgers is a given! :)
