In the eyes of adcoms, which would look better on the SAT I for reading + math - two 700s or an 800 and a 600?

800 and a 600.

two 700 ' s

They find higher reading/writing scores more impressive than a high math score

two 800's :) haha um I would say two 700s

Reading 700 is very good, math 700 is soso

I would think that it would look better to be moderately good in both areas rather than be fantastic in one, and suck at the other, so I'd say two 700's

If it was
M(800) and CR(600), the two 700's would be better
if it was
M(600) and CR(800), <- would look better because CR is so hard to 800 on.

800 CR, 600 math would be most impressive.

...unless the student is a prospective business major xD

Yes but if it is so much easier to get an 800 on math, then wouldn't a 600 math cancel out the effect of the 800 cr anyway since you did really bad on the really easy one? (This is me playing devils advocate since i think math is way easier and less impressive but the same argument can be used the other way around and just because its easy for people that are good at math doesnt mean its necesarily easy for everyone, same with cr and writing)

Why not use the 800 and 700?

800 and 600
700 and 700
800 and 700
700 and 600

^because they don't add up to the same number
800+700 = 1500
700+600 = 1300.
of course a 1500 > 1300.

what about 800 & 650 vs. 750 & 700???
