I spent 7 years @ Univ of Va doing a surgical residency. I am listed in the Alumni bulletin as a medical school alum. Does anyone know if I am considered a true legacy?

NancyE, you might want to repost on the UVa board - Dean J does a good job of monitoring that one and answering questions. I know there have been some legacy posts there that may answer your question.

UVA offers an alumni admission liaison program for undergrad admissions - we found this very helpful. The program site says that “legacy”, at least for purposes of the liaison program, is the child of a degree recipient, but you should give them a call and clarify directly.
It’s been defined for us as the child or step-child of someone who has a degree from the University.
