For my senior boards project (all seniors at my school are required to do one) I want to hold an event that will increase school spirit and raise money for a good cause. There are already a number of events at my school like plays, Powderpuff Football, Homecoming Pep Rally, parades, Big Man On Campus (guy beauty pageant)...so I'm running out of ideas!

What is an event at your school that is fun and gets the whole school involved? Does it have rivalries between different classes like juniors vs sophomores? Anything is appreciated! I want to know what works at your school because it'll probably be successful at mine! I always have fun at these events and love showing school spirit but I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been done before...

ohh we have spirit week at my school too, it's SO much fun! We don't have a carnival like that, it actually sounds really cool and like it benefits a lot of clubs. I can't really do anything with homecoming though since it's at the beginning of the year...my event would take place like in February or something

We have Coffee House which is another way of saying talent show. We also had a fair last year. Or we were going to be until or stupid principal stopped it.

My class hired a hypnotist last year. It was pretty awesome.

Also, there's a prom fashion show, and my favorite, the senior talent show, where during the intermission, senior boys are auctioned off for dates.

We have Winterfest, which is pretty cool. It's a competition between the different grades in events like an outdoor relay race, snow soccer, and other kinds of stuff. There's a talent show and lots of other stuff I can't remember...I never get to go because it's always the same weekend as Area All-State.

The best is Spirit Week, which is a random week in the middle of March. It's another competition between the grades, but we have differently themed days that you have to dress up for...hat day, monochromatic day, 80s day, etc. You earn points for the % of people that dress up. On Friday there's a pep rally with lots of cool events--pie eating contest, relay race, jousting, sumo wrestling, musical chairs, tug-of-war...you get points for winning these events too. There's hallway decorating for certain days and such, and it's a lot of fun. There's some intense competition, but it's amazingly fun :)

We have Spirit week too, leading up to Homecoming. We have an in-school pep rally, but there is also an evening pep rally which has a bonfire and stuff--very fun

but my favorite is SpringFest. Its usually March/Aprilish and its just like a big carnival type thing that takes place outside. They get some of those carnival type games and a couple of those big blow up things you can bounce around in, and Outback Steakhouse has a booth for food. Each club has its own thing too. It's up to the club to do what they want, but it's like you pay a $1 or whatever and get to play a game and try to win a prize, or clubs sell food (especially Language clubs sell ethnic food), and things like that. One club sponsors volleyball and basketball tournaments and teams enter for like $8 each or whatever. Plus we have student-run bands audition to play throughout the afternoon.

We have an awesome labor day festival that is sponsored by the city my school is in, and we really get involved in it and it's fun. We have a lot of sweet clubs that do all kinds of crazy stuff, and we also have a lot of fun during spirit week with different theme days. Crazy days are the best :)

fall fest, spring fest, senior spirit week, school spirit week, homecoming, strawberry day
umm... theres more but i cant think of any more off the top of my head

Oh! Hat Days! Hats aren't allowed in school, but groups can ask the principal for a Hat Day for fundraising. My friends and I are doing one next Friday for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. people donate $1 and get a ribbon to put on their hat, which they can then wear in school.

like a fair that all clubs have a booth in, with stuff like dunking, rock climbing walls...it sounds like it could work at my school!

Also new question:

Do your schools have several pep rallies for each of the sports seasons?? My school only has a homecoming pep rally where they honor fall sports and I was thinking of holding pep rallies for each of the seasons like winter and spring too. Does anyone's school do this and does it work/ generate a lot of interest? Also how do they do it? A lot of questions I know lol.

spirit day at my school pwns all (organized by seniors).

pep rallies kind of die at my school- we occasionally have one in the fall but it's not like we're not spirited... we just couldn't care less about pep rallies.
