I'm more into the bonsai then the cell phones though. Just kidding:D

To the Americans who voted for Canada: Where is your sense of adventure? Most of Canada is not different from what you are used to; in fact it's almost identical to the US. (I am Canadian, btw) If you're choosing to live somewhere in Quebec OTHER THAN Montreal, then THAT would be significantly different from American culture. Nunavut, Newfoundland, or the Northwest Territories would also be interesting cultural experiences for an American. But if you're just thinking of Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary or some other city you've heard of, what's the point? Montreal is a biligual city, but so is Miami. And Ottawa for that matter. And Moncton too. It's really not that uncommon.

It's just like America except with fewer flags, more leftists, far less reference to "the nation" and "nationwide", people are on average a bit more polite/reserved, there's slightly more nudity/swearing on TV, and most don't start a sentence with "Fact is, ..." "Trouble is, ..." or other cringe-worthy colloquialisms.

Canada is a fine choice - for people from distant and troubled lands looking for peace, order and good government. And sure, it's nice to visit. Just because a place is similar doesn't mean it isn't worth visiting. But this would be a chance to live somewhere and experience something new. For Americans, I think Canada is largely more of the same. BC culture is like California, Alberta like Texas, Southern Ontario like Northeastern US, etc. But you Americans could live anywhere in the world, with just a pinch of effort to adapt to a foreign culture that is actually foreign to you! So why not try something new?

Maybe I think most of the world (and basically all of Europe) sucks? I haven't seen much to to contrary past cafes and art galleries to say otherwise on my stays over there..

I like Canada. It's like America, only cleaner.

's all right. (It's okay, you can look the other way)

Which country has the best [public] school system?

It depends on what you mean by "best".

Indeed. Perhaps, the toughest first?

Israel pour moi

Well, Finland is supposed to have a very good school system (they had the highest rate of literacy in 15 year olds in a study done by the OECD) but everyone learns at the same pace until they are 16 when they choose whether to go to a vocational school or continue education. I don't know, other than that. I think that the best schools would be the ones that offer the greatest degree of flexibility. You should be able to take subjects with people that are as good as you at it. It should not be determined by age.

Anywhere except NYC , I think they have to be the worst. NYC is the best but the public schools need a huge fixer upper!
