<p>To an extent, yes!</p>
<p>No, only a parent will make you a legacy.</p>
<p>This is not so clear cut. A grandparent will make you a legacy at many places. Also some schools only consider legacy status if your parent/grandparent went to the college but others grant status based on graduate/professional school attendance. Finally, some schools which admit to a legacy preference are clear that this only counts if you apply binding early decision.</p>

Also what if a parent transferred out of a school? Does the two years spent there count for anything for me?</p>
<p>they usually ask which year they graduated from that school. if they didn’t graduate, i don’t know if it counts.</p>
<p>btw: my dad’s cousin went to tufts medical school, does that count? ^^</p>
