I know. It sounds boring, but I'm bored so...

Yeah.

What courses do you take that make you stand out?

Me: Japanese, Russian, and Asian Civz.

Senior year it will be multivariable calc.

I <3 multivariable calc

Does a college math course only last one semester? Could I take the next thing too?

What is after multivariable? Figured I'd ask since apparently you've done this all.

Actually, I haven't. I just <3 it because I heard people talking about it and it was just pretty much awesome. I'm looking foward to it senior year though. Rar.

Can't think of any. Our school's so basic. I wish they offered Russian and Japanese...

Godfather, at my Community College there is Multivariable calc. There is also a class called linear algebra, and the prereq is only high school Calc BC. The third advanced math class is elementary differential equations, and the prereq for that is multivariable. Each class is only a semester

The courses that would make me stand out are one or more of those math classes, and possibly biological anthropology or logic

Theory of Knowledge. :)

I take Russian in addition to Spanish. But I'm Russian, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Sadly, I took nothing extraordinary or interesting.

I guess what would make me stand out is my math or physics classes. I'm taking Diff Eq and Linear Algebra next year. Also planning on taking Thermo and Modern Physics down at the University. Spring quarter taking Astronomy for scientists and engineers too. I'm pretty excited :) I'm not really too worried about standing out though. I just take what I want to because it's interesting.

Existitenalism (sp?) and Experimental and Observationary Astronomy

As an engineering applicant, I like to think taking AP Studio for two years made me stand out from other engineering applicants. But then again, I only took it junior year because it got me out of my school's Latin requirements. Though I ended up loving the course.

Multivar
Linear Algebra
Molec. Bio Lab Research
Orgo
Intro to Spectroscophy

And next year (hopefully):
Set Theory
Group Theory
Diff. eq.
Advanced Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics
Relativity

I love my school :)

Mathwiz...feel the jealousy. I would totally kill for that opportunity.

We've got an introduction to military history course, which sounds so-so until you meet the teacher - basically, the class consists of learning about cool weapons and the weird things historical figures did. It's fairly awesome. We've also got a microbiology class, but in the past two years there haven't been enough kids signed up to launch it - I've done some recruiting, however, so hopefully next year will work out.

Show Band & Jazz Band. I have the school's monopoly on bass guitar playing...

I am only self-studying Chinese.
And Linear Algebra would be accessible to those who have completed Calculus AB, since one only needs to know how to mainpulate basic integrals when one encounters eigenvectors.

eigenvectors just required some algebra as i remember. in fact, when i took linear algebra, we never use any calc at all!

Japanese, Linguistics, Cultural Anthropology, hopefully Anthro Linguistics next year

I saw formulas in the Kwak/Hong book that were definitely integrals-it was under the inner product spaces section.
