what courses should i take during the first 2 years before applying to UCb or UCLA

Are there any courses that I should take before applying to UCB or UCLA?

assist.org

is it for students in California, but I am actually from NY, can you tell me something about strudents transferring from outside California?

it is incredibly difficult to transfer from most out of state schools…

where are you planning to attend for your first two years?

fredhx:

nothing is impossible. as long as you realize what it takes to transfer into these schools you’ll be fine.

Go to your counseling office or your school cataloge and follow the IGETC. It applyies to EVERY UC! AND if you want classes that transfer to a MAJOR (example: Psychology 1, 2, and Statistics 1 for a Psychology Major) go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org)

Fredhx - it is very difficult transferring from an out of state institution to UC Berkeley or UCLA and other UC’s. This is because California Community College transfer students receive highest priority in transferring to the UC. Approximately only 80-100 are accepted to UC Berkeley and UCLA each.

For lower division @ UCs, the basic reqs are:

-English: 2 (1 Eng compistion, 1 Eng critical thinking)
-Math: 1 (@college level)
-Arts & Humanties: 3 (@least 1 from each)
-Social & Behaviorial sciences: 3 (@least 1 from each)
-Physical & Biological Sciences: 2+ lab (1 from each)
-Language: 2 years/ proficiency (also counts from highschool)

Depending on your major, there are dif pre reqs you should take before transferring so that you can take upper level once you get there. Best chances if you complete all of them.

take the math and english first.
or else you will end up like me…taking math this semester(my absolute WORST subject), nervous wreck about passing!
