I am currently a California resident at a community college looking to transfer and attain BS in Computer Science.

I don't really care where I go, but I have spent too much time already at a community college and just need a degree that says Computer Science on it. That's all I need, just the ability to be able to transfer finally.

I have done the whole assist.org but it is hard keeping track of all of the CSU requirements, and was wondering if anybody knew of any CSU in particular that didn't require many classes to transfer as a CS major.

Seems like all the big ones (San Jose State, San Diego State) require a truck load of classes you have to take (all the physics courses) to even be able to transfer, I do not have time for all that.

ideally, I would like a CSU that doesn't require physics to transfer for CS and doesn't require that many science classes.

Which one is the easiest to transfer to for Computer Science?

if u really dont care where u go, try the smaller campuses that are not impacted. like bakersfield, monterey bay, stanislaus and sonoma. or humbolt, that is a great school but far in the north of california

Not exactly your question but, CS might not be the right major for you⊠Perhaps CIS (housed within Biz) is a better fit.

Most of the CSUs will require a very similar set of courses for transfer applicants. Youâd have to look up every campus.

The easiest admit will be at your âlocalâ CSU. Each CC has a designated local campus. The GPA threshold is really low - like 2.0. Non impacted campuses like Monterrey have a similar gpa requirement.

According to ASSIST, those that do not require physics in their lower division prerequisites include UCB (BA), UCI, UCSC (BA), CSUCI, CSUEB, HSU.

UCD, UCSD (BA), CSULB, CSUN, CSUStan, SDSU allow a choice of lab science courses (e.g. choose between physics, chemistry, biology).

But the physics or other science courses are usually just a one year sequence, not exactly a âtruckloadâ. The varying requirements for CS courses at different campuses may be more difficult to cover at CCs.

Is it possible to attend a CSU that DOES require Physics and just take those two classes there? I would rather just take Physics at a CSU then at a CC, which is really depressing me. I just need to transfer. Can you finish the two physics courses at the CSU you transfer into? Or must they be completed at the CC before you even transfer?
