filmxoxo-- I also get that at least once a day, plus "slow down..." the speed of my speech is legendary...(But I have an "interview/public speaking voice" that I go into and therefore don't terrify people I don't know)

jesus u guys talked for hours??? what am i gonna talk about? the bears?

my interviewer told me that yale doesnt care about the interviews so relax.

I wish the interviews were worth more too. I feel like I give off a better impression in person than on paper.

my interview only lasted 35 minutes, and i don't know if that's because my interviewer has a time constraint or i'm just not interesting to talk to. i made the most use out of what little time we had, though.

chlor, did you interviewer go "stop right there. it's 35 minutes".

No, our whole conversation just lasted that long. I suspect that she had only a few questions to begin with, and braced herself for long winded answers. Me, being a man of few words, kept my mouth in check and answered each question fully but without being verbose. When it was all over, I checked my watch and was quite surprised it was only 35 min.

"Hope you get in."

We talked for two hours. I enjoyed the interview, and I like the interviewer so much. We share opinions on many things. He felt like an old friend of mine. I can't say I don't care whether I will be accepted or not, but I am happy that I enjoyed the conversation and got an intelligent friend.

shine, it seems like 1hour+ is the trend in CC. eh.

shine or anyone, can you "proof"read my "question" for my interviewer(i already had mine, i just want to email him a question, and see if it's too naive or immature or un-intelligent? i just don't want him think that my question is dumb.

Sorry, hide, that my post didn't answer your question. I am simply happy to have such an intelligent new friend. I don't think it's a good idea to ask how your interview went. Believe in yourself, and move on.

something really funny happened. If u read my post earlier i thought my harvard interview was bad. it turned out it was great actually. my dad asked his friend who knew my interviewer.(no i didn't know that my dad's friend knew him and i didn't contact him so it was fair. no inapproriate contacts. Besides my dad's friend talked to the itnerviewer after he filed my report so doesn't matter) anyways my dad's frined asked him about me and he said that i was pretty intelligent and he wrote a great report on me. lol kind of funny how the "worst" interview can be the "best" interivew.
this was my harvard interview btw. so Hideand Seek have hope!

mine lasted for 2 hours. She commented that my "Why Yale" response was very unique and impressive. She said that most kids say that want to go to Yale because its a good school but I touched upon something interesting.

Sure there were a few awkward pauses because I rather think and give a good answer than just rush into an response. In general we had a flowing conversation. I was lucky that the interviewer and I had similar interests.

nysenior, how did you answer "why yale"? just curious. i won't steal. i've already had my interview(he never asked me that question).

imiracle...my case is different. i'm glad yours worked out!

yeah, how did you answer the WHY YALE question. I am sooo curious now, wondering how could it be sooo unique. Do respond! hehehe

My Yale interview was extremely long (3hrs) but I don't think it went all that well.

My interviewer said that I am very MOTIVATED as I had to go through the whole college thingy alone without any professional help. He also felt sorry for me because I am simply a bookworm this year!!(It's not that I enjoy it or smth, I'm forced to)!!!

Um, okay, most people don't get professional help though. Most can't afford to. Some people don't even get parental help.
