what did yall give up for lent?

i gave up on school.

My church doesn't have Lent.

It's funny - most christian people I know don't do anything for lent. As an atheist I find it amusing that they still call themselves or think of themselves as christian. I guess people don't want to give up their "identity" or lack of one. Then again most people in America today are apatheists - they don't care about religion enough to either renounce it or follow it. I'm glad - makes people much easier to get along with.

I gave up my virginity..........to the wrong man.

esquared, i thought you were a guy

Giving up something for Lent is a good practice, but it's not in the Christian doctrine. Being from Alabama, I hadn't even heard of Lent till at least Middle School. I think religion is based on belief and faith, not practices. Hehe...I'm not a very apathetic person...

i gave up boba for Lent :) it's a really hard thing to do, especially if you live in a city that's 99% full of asians haha

Is it really bad if I'm Asian and don't know what boba is?

^
yes...............

we all enjoy boba tea here in Alcatraz

jessy09.....................i am a guy.

esquared's a little brokeback

boba tea is milk tea--meaning that its tea like what those english people drink with their crumpets. However it has flavors like mango, strawberry, or litchee mixed in with the tea and it has little rice balls that you suck up with a big straw and it's cold. Everyone needs to drink it at least once.

Bubble tea? (OMG...yeah, I'm kind of...mmph)

ahahahahahaha

...

sorry

meh...hehe...at least, chances are, i'll have access to this delicious tea when i go to college...i'm sure that will open my cultural understanding of my own heritage

are you telling me they don't have boba/bubble tea shops in Alabama? Wow...what STarbucks is to Americans, boba tea is to chinese, koreans, and japanese.
