What did you deferred applicants do to help yourselves get admitted?

Well, I was deferred EA, and I sent in some updates, a new resume, kept in light contact with my regional rep, but most importantly sent a 2 minute video on the top 10 reasons to accept me, specific to uchicago. I think it was super funny, and got a lot of compliments from friends and guidance counselors. It was also obvious that there was a lot of work put into it (effects and whatnot).

I have high stats, and I think I'm a kind of student that UChicago looks for (computer science, but leads in plays, and all-state choir/also a good writer and an 800 on reading for SAT...basically well-rounded for a tech major). I think I might not have gotten in due to a small lack in personality or creativity on my application. Do you think these updates/video will make up for it?

The video will definitely make up for the small “lack of personality” in the original app, if that was the problem in the first place. I’m also deferred, and didn’t do quite this much.
