I got waitlisted today. What do you suggest I do to get off the wait list? It has an enclosure for me to send back. It was sheet with three choices on my plans if i get off the waitlist (i will most likely enroll, i will considering enrolling, i will not consider enrolling). I know that the obvious thing for me to do to increase my chances would be to check the first option, but I was wondering if there is anthing else I can do?
I’ve read that suppling an additional letter would help me out a lot. Are there any suggestions??

Basically update school regarding any new awards or achievements, recent high grades, interest in attending, and an additional rec if you can get a meaningful one. See some previous posts from a few months ago--there are good pointers on a couple of threads.

Definitely contact your adcom. Write a letter saying that Case Western is your first choice, and that you would definitely go there if selected off the waitlist (if that is true). Do the things mattmom suggested.

Why in God's name would you want to go to Case? I'm just curious. I got in with a good scholarship; the problem is, it is in the poorest part of the poorest city in the country. The place looks really nice on paper, but visit it and the surrounding parts of Cleveland; it is a rude awakening.

I am seriously ill and my house isnt the best place to come home to. This is why I chose to graduate as a junior. These conditions along with 10 classes (6 APs) have caused a serious decline in my grades. I made HARD B's and C's 1st semester, compared to easy A's and B's fresh. and sophomore years. Unfortunately, my stats haven't improved at all. I think the best I can do in terms of improving my academic status is retake the new sat and send that (i have no idea if that helps??).

I actually visited Case. Agreed Case isnt the prettiest school and Cleveland is going through some tough times ( I actually got robbed within 10 minutes of walking around downtown), but there are several other things that Case offers that make up for that.
