What did you do with awarded courses via AP

Did you put them in the "Coursework Section" or did you exclude them from the "Coursework Section"

I don't have any AP courses, but it looks to me like you woudn't put them in the coursework section, considering the fact that they have a whole seperate section for IB/AP scores. I'm pretty sure the coursework section is solely for classes taken in college.

Ya but you are given credit for certian classes if you have APs. I just put them in so they dont miss them. Did anybody else do anything different.

Do you mean you were given credit at your current college? I used my APs to clear a few pre-reqs but didn't use them for credit at my college. I just listed them in the AP section. I don't think it's necessary to put them in the coursework section because they aren't college coursework...the AP section is enough.

Ya but when i exclude them from the coursework section, when i go to submit the application it says that I hav fewer than 60 units, when in reality I have much more than 60 including AP. So i just put them in the coursework section with a "CR" so I could get above the 60 marker. I also put them in the AP section too. And I explained my situation in the Additional Comments box too. Am i safe by doing this?

Are you sure AP credit counts towards the 60 units? That sounds a little odd to me, and even if it's true it seems like you should have had 60 units anyways in order to complete all GEs and major-related classes. I'll have 91 units before transferring, and only 3 of those aren't for my major or IGETC, so how did you manage to do it with so little?

AP is magic --- I came in with 21 units (this is just for Berkeley). And I had already completed more than half of the IGETC. So all I am taking is 50 units, this also will allow me to complete 11 Philosophy courses. And I got an AP award to put on my application. Sooo gald I took it in HS.

Only list the courses that are shown on your official transcripts as completed at the college or university. Most likely your transcripts list the AP exams and perhaps what course credit was given, but it should distinguish this between the courses you actually completed at the college. You should only be self-reporting the AP exam scores, not the course equivalencies.

Ok Thanx, a different councelor told me to put in the course equivalencies too, but i will not after reading what you wrote. thanks a mill UCD Admissions
