What did you do wrong?

Now that our apps are in, time for the fun-filled fretting. So come on, let's hear it, what fatal error did you commit on your app that has doomed you to a lifetime occupation at Burger King?

I'll start:
"I" got cut off from an essay and I look illiterate, forgot to check the little "Grade 12" box under Chess Club, and I believe I misspelled my father's undergraduate university.

Let's get this party started!

"what fatal error did you commit on your app that has doomed you to a lifetime occupation at Burger King?"

hahaha...k here it goes...

-my common app essay (that i submitted to all 7 places) had a random quotation mark at the end of a sentence
- i forgot to mention a national music honor society that i'm in, and i would feel stupid telling them now
-i also screwed up one of my interviews, not entirely my fault though. the guy was very unfriendly and his eye wouldn't stop twitching

MAJOR LOL...STILL LAUGHING!!

lol @ the interviewer. UHH ok I sent the wrong copy of my common app- it didn't have the hours/wk or wks/yr. My optional essay sucked.

I dont know...my little dog ran on my keyboard. I later found out that I submitted my essay with all the weird alphabet letters at the end of my essay. =0

and... my princeton essay sucked. I wrote on the very very last minute. No proofreading. No revision of course. Topic? Sucked.

anyway Im done! done done done~ and i'm happy now. It doesnt matter how much I screwed up my app..
well, yeah maybe it will matter after April 1 when I get the decision notification. lol xP

Terrible "most important activity" answer, didn't put dates of my summer activities. Mostly just a hodgepodge of easy-to-avoid-but-was-too-impulsive to do so.

Glad I'm not alone. :)

Stanford essays were bbbbaaaaaddddd

I marked "asian american" on my commonapp

did not erase completely the name of the college i was recycling the stanford essay for

I Could've Made My Essay Better. I'm Going To Contact The College(which Forum Is This Again) And Ask To Resubmit My Stupid Essay.

I used "besides" instead of "beside." I used a capital J where I shouldn't have. I used "but also" in a sentence but forgot the "not only." Well, they're not major errors, but it's annoying to find them after having proofread my essays a million times. Oh, and also, I submitted my Common Application online, and said that I'd "attach any additional material to the Common App," which of course, isn't possible. Lol, I'll look stupid to the Adcom now. :p

forgot to describe my favourite activity; put a caplital letter as in "South" instead of just " south"lol and pretty much im going thru a maybe-i-didnt-spell-my-name-correctly syndrome..........:P

mistakes:

writing my stanford apps the day before/morning they were due.

taking comp sci in 11th grade under the instruction of Satan.

uhhh not publishing my own literature while curing AIDS and reversing the deteriation in the ozone...? harvard standards...geez...

comon guys lighten up. i mean everyone knows that adcoms are drunk and read our apps and 2 in in the morning. do you really think they are gonna notice something small like what your all talking about? as long as your essay didnt stink, youll be fine-oh sorry guys! well hey, micky d's is hiring and if you do a good enough job you get to go to Hamburger U!

Nah, I don't think these trivial matters will affect anything. I just knew this was on everyone's mind, and I started the thread to get it out in the open. Who doesn't like commiserating? Come on, Shark_Bite, you know you want to, all the other kids are doing it :D

see im not into it cause im a junior and i wont be doing this until next year. of course come admission time im gonna be just like you.

hey, we're obviously all pretty light-hearted about this. everyone knows that these tiny little mistakes aren't going to kill us. it's just a good way to let some stress out and make fun of ourselves to do this.

So far, checking the wrong ethnicity takes first prize :)

Did anyone spell their name wrong? That would be so funny; if they got in and all their records said something other than their papers, and the professors' world crumbled because they couldn't enter grades or anything....

One of my friends' birth certificate is wrong. Her first name was supposed to be Bryn and her middle name Erin, but the nurse got them switched and the mother was too tired to correct her. So now her nickname is Bryn and everyone gets confused because they can't see how that comes from "Erin" :D
