I thought it was a joke...because the e-mail was so informal...like along the lines of "Are you excited? because you are now a Michigan Wolverine" hahah probably not like that...but I stared in disbelief -since I was deferred a month ago...and they said the earliest I would hear of a decision would be April, lol so December 16th was quick.

It took a couple of minutes of analyzing the e-mail and then signing onto Wolverine Access to verify before I ran to my mom who was mopping at the time, and told her! I was shaky and mom seemed proud and she gave me a hug. And I hugged my 16 year old sister too! haha, that's pretty rare.

Usually, I was able (using College Confidential) to track down when my acceptance letters would arrive. With my top choice, however, I wasn't. So I didn't even run to the mailbox like a normally did. But I did get the mail, saw a big envelope, saw Williams in the corner, and said OMG I GOT INTO WILLIAMS and tore it open. My mom and I were excited. She called like my whole town within 5 minutes.

I actually got a personal phone call from my admissions counselor. She knew my Wolverine Access wouldn't be updated for a few days and didn't want me to have to wait any longer (clerical errors in my file had delayed my decision and I'd been waiting over 5 months). I thanked her probably 100 times (felt like an idiot afterwards LOL) and then hung up the phone.

I started bawling like a blubbering fool...15 years worth of pressure from wanting into University of Michigan was released in the period of 5 minutes. I was at my moms and she assumed someone died or something. Then I still checked online everyday until it updated (still thinking it wasn't real until it was confirmed).

I pretty much hyperventilated and gasped and jumped up and down with joy and in public, if checking online, smiled like the biggest doofus....oh well : ) I have to say, each time I received an acceptance letter(6 total), I felt like I was on a high for at least two days, great experience : )

my admissions officer from the school hand-delivered the acceptance. so I was expecting it! lol, I did spend two days in complete panic over her coming though...
