What did you learn out of the college applications process?

What did you learn out of the college applications process?

  1. Affordability is probably the most important criteria when selecting a college to apply and to attend.
  2. Have a couple of safety schools on your list that you are willing to attend no matter what.
  3. Do not have a “dream school”. Your dream school will be the school which accepts you, has your intended major of study and is affordable.

Apply EA.
Some colleges within universities have different application deadlines.
Most schools have supplemental essays and they take time.
It feels really good to get the first acceptance.

How to sell yourself lol  college applications in the United States are so much more extensive then in any other country and the cutthroat competition has taught me to be prepared in life

  1. Finances are table-stakes. If a school is out of reach don’t consider it - move on.
  2. If your kid knows what they are interested in the process is easier.
  3. Have a list: Reach, match, safety and don’t kid yourself on not needing safeties.
  4. Love your list. An acceptance from any should be cause for a celebration.
  5. The application process is more involved that you imagine.
  6. If you want to keep stress low, then start early.
  7. Done correctly it can be a great adventure.
