I took the June ACT and I am anxious to see my score. Last time, my score was extremely low. What were your scores the first time?? Mine was below 25.

First time- 33
Hoping for the same or better for June

Mine was also a pitiful 25; since the June 9th ACT seemed to be pretty easy - except the math section, so I'm expecting a much higher grade this time around. Hopefully, I'll reach my 30+ goal. :)

31 in April (certainly pathetic on this board), hoping for a 32+ here in a few hours

I also had a 31 in April. My unattainable (for me) goal is a 33. Crosses fingers, toes and anything else that can be crossed-

34 the first time I took it in April - 35 in April on the date that was part of Illinois requirements - I only took it again in June because I had signed up before I found out I got a 35. Since I know I'm not going to get a 36, I'm just hoping for a higher 35.

which is easier SAT or ACT- in your opinion

Don't give up yet wildcat, I went from a 34 to a 36. It CAN be done!

shadow,

Was your SAT score from june in the same range as your ACT score from april?

Scorpiodiva241 - my son took the May SAT and the June ACT. He liked the SAT way more and totally disliked the ACT. I sort of pushed him to take the ACT because I had heard it was easier than the SAT. What his opinion is - the ACT is better and easier for math/science kids which he is not and the SAT is easier for english/history kids. A lot of kids who took the ACT with him (most kids around here only take the SAT) agreed with him.

According to the Collegeboard conversion chart, my April ACT is equivalent to a 1360-1400 old SAT. I actually received a 1480 on my June SAT. I guess I am better at the SAT. I always bomb ACT math, and by bomb I dont mean in the OH MY GOSH I GOT BELOW A 36 CC way; I really bomb ACT math!

I have used the "Official ACT Book" already...I recently bought Barrons to have a new spin on the test...is this a good book? (Previous score was a 31...my goal is a 33.) Thanks!

"A higher 35?" Wow...calm down...haha, really, don't put yourself through that torture over and over again. A 34 is a terrific score at ... anywhere. You could've just skipped the June test day anyway. I got a 34 in April and despite a 7/12 writing score, I'm set. The ACT was sufficiently painful that I don't ever want to take it again.

I got a 33 at the end of my sophomore year which was last year's June test. I'm hoping for a 35 this time.

zoogies - i wouldnt exactly call it torture, the only bad thing about it was that it was a saturday during summer and i couldnt sleep in. since i already paid for it, i was ok with sitting there for 4 hours and hoping for a better score.

I read that you had a 25 composite. So how do you actually prepare for the ACT. IN my school the highest score anyone ever got was a 28. I would really like to receive a 30 or better. And I won't give up.
