To all admits... What did you put in the blank space and why?

I'm guessing that you are applying for tech later this year? If so,
I would suggest that you not look at anyone else's until you have done yours. Those of us whp applied last december did not share our boxes until the day after the applications were due.

Good point, Tom.

put your picture, duh

A put a collage of photos of me doing... various things, mostly science oriented but also music stuff, a photo from a track meet, etc. I'm sure it'd been done before.

Not that you couldn't just find the thread or anything...

I'm not telling you what I put in there, but as for "why?".... because it tied into my main hook, showed my passion, I guess. It was a pretty simple image (no graphical edits, no words) with a short explaination of something pretty 'far-out'

I put dental floss in the box. (Seriously.)

I think it's 'okay' to look at boxes from previous admissions cycles, given that they're all done and over with, no chance of stealing or anything. On the other hand, as with looking at sample admissions essays or sample graduation speeches, it's not always a good idea if you're going to have to do one yourself. It's your call there, I agree with lizzardfire.

flierdke, I want to see your box. Seriously.

Kim wasn't yours the one with the number line? Heh... I didn't realize that you used dental floss for that. Pretty cool ;-)

-Oren

Ja, mine was the number line--I really only used the dental floss to stitch hemp onto the cardboard. So it's hard to see at the resolution that was allowed. But it's there.
