hey, a survey for what people did for the third essay for caltech......A drawing, a picture, a poem or some other things?

I posted a computer generated picture with me playing a traditional instrument with some fancy background

By the way there was a post about this in December or early January that had a lot of the RD applicant's boxes in it... I am too lazy to look for it though.

Here's mine. That was a fun little robot... :)

excellent thread idea!

Here comes my box filling :D
"...suddenly they all felt that the apparent calmness evaporated and that life reached a point of a radical turn. Tranquility - merely a dream they felt could cease the anguish of waiting; but why dream it when you can dream of succes and happiness? Why end the anxiety that was so comfortable, the waiting that let them imagine... and hope. As much as they wanted to find out the answer, they knew that doing it would quicken the future, would kill the dreams and press them to the cold wall of reality, a reality that could regrettably be defined as simple as True or False, 1 or 0, Yes or No, Admitted or..."

Lizzardfire, I really like your formula! I hope they accept you.

It reminds me of what I did: a one page paper, published in the journal Science, Vol -17, on 26 Oct 2999, page 1729 titled: The Effect of Fame on the Probability of Acceptance into the California Institute of Technology.

I think that was one of the two reasons why they accepted me. The other one was probably b/c they needed more girls.

(The old box thread is at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=134460&highlight=official)

i stuck in a knitting pattern that does a double helix scarf.

I think the left side of my brain was rebelling after all those essays and facts.

benzene... one of the things I like about Caltech is that they are not affirmative action obsessed. Roughly 70% of the applicants to MIT are male and yet their male/female ratio somehow still manages to be around 50%. Anyway, my point is, if you were admitted to Caltech it was because you deserve to be there, not because you're a girl. Same goes for minorities too.
