<p>Like ebeeeee, my son also chose Northeastern for their co-ops, to gain practical experience while still in college and hopefully get a foot in the door when he graduates. And I am facing the same situation as you, lealdragon re how much to push, my hope is that getting his feet wet early through hands on experience will provide him with the motivation he needs to reach his potential.</p>
<p>Hate to tell you this, but in many dorms, it is the norm for kids to be up and at 'em at 2-4 in the morning. You have to be disciplined to live in a dormitory where there are other kids who are having fun and partying while you have work to do. There are always some kids who are studying or in bed at a decent hour, but the partyers tend to have the higher profiles.</p>
<p>Well that is disconcerting but very good to know. We've definitely ruled out dorms in favor of a housing co-op.</p>
