What do alumni interviewers know about us before the interview?

Do most interviewers like students to bring a resume or something or that sort, or is that frowned upon? Would it hurt to bring it, or do you suggest not to bring it? Thanks!

I am fairly new to interviewing and had to take last year off since my son was applying, but I don’t think a resume is necessary. None of my candidates thus far has brought one. The interview is supposed to be about getting to know the candidate on a more personal level. I don’t think a resume helps with this. I say leave it at home.

Would it be frowned upon if you brought one? Probably not. At least not by me. I’m just not sure I would make use of it.

I’ve been interviewing for a while and I ask candidates to bring a list of their extracurriculars if they have one (I don’t call it a resume)–I find it helpful in jotting notes and giving me areas to ask about etc. I don’t think it hurts to bring one–you can always just ask the interviewer if they’d like to see it.
