I know that this is a vague question, but any response would be helpful.

Is there a need to go off campus? If so, where do kids go?

Also, do students frequently attend bruins/red sox/celtics games?

Hi btknight17,

Freshman year, my D partied on campus. They have parties which are sponsored by the athletic teams and the frats. Athletic teams take different weekends to sponsor the parties. My D went to the Bruins hockey games which included one of the playoff games last year when they won the title! My D has a car so she can get around. She also loves to eat out, so they frequently try some of Boston’s great restaurants. She goes to the Babson hockey games and has traveled in New England to see some of the games.

Babson also has a pub on campus. I think they go there some on Thursday nights. They seem to party on Thursday and Saturday nights the most. Babson does not have classes on Friday.

Sophomore year, my D went to the Celtics game and has started to go to some of the clubs in Boston. When they go to the clubs they take the Babson shuttle, so they are not driving. She also went with Babson friends (both boys and girls) to Kilington VT to go skiing and is going to Cape Cod with a group of kids for the weekend. Both times she knew someone who had a house to stay in, so she did not have to pay to stay somewhere.

She has also gone to quite a few concerts in the Boston area. There is a lot to do in Boston including partying with friends from other colleges. The Babson kids are from all over the world and country. Her friends have also invited her to NYC and the Bahamas. She seems to have lots of opportunities for social activity both on and off campus.

Of course the shopping and eating out is great in Boston, so that keeps her occupied as well. She is frequently goes downtown or to the north end.

She has also had several friends from other colleges visit her from other colleges. People love to visit Boston.

She has really great female and male friends at Babson. She always has someone to do things with on and off campus. I would not consider Babson to be a huge party school by any means. My D is very social and has been happy with her social life. She would have loved to join a sorority, but was unable due to her athletic time commitment. She is a serious students, so she is balancing everything very well thus far and have a great time as well.
