What Do Colleges Mean by GPA?

Leaving aside the top twenty colleges, which probably have their own rules, what do you think most colleges mean when they list their 25-75% GPA range? Is this weighted, unweighted, or recalculated? If recaluclated, do colleges apply weights to AP/ IB/ Honors courses, or do they just exclude PE and driver ed?

I realize that each college could potentially set it's own rules, but I have also noted that most college websites seem to be silent on this issue as if everyone knows the answer.

I didn't get the text message...what's the answer?

all colleges are different. umich only uses certain classes and takes off +/-. gatech does a similar thing. if schools recalculate, this is what they may do.
A-4 b-3 c-2 d-1 f-0. no +/- and add .5 to all ap or honors that are below an a.
just my observations.

So essentially GPA is weighted, and honors count equally with AP.

I did not know that!

again, it depends.
