What do freshman do on weekends at UCLA if they don't have a car?

I won't be bringing my car to college but it is very important to me to be able to get off campus every now and then. Is it ever necessary to go off campus for some fun or is there always something to do on campus/in walking distance from dorms?

You’ll find a lot of things to do as a freshman without a car since a lot of social events provide transportation (clubbing, football games). You’ll also be able to walk to Westwood for food, movies, and some limited options for clothes. And grocery shopping is just a walk away to Ralphs.

However, I’m going to be a 4th year next year, and I feel like I haven’t taken advantage of my location without a car. Being stuck in the UCLA area gets old really quickly, so I’m really excited to get a car very soon :D. Although a lot of my friends have cars, it’s still not the same as owning your own car and having the freedom to go wherever you want.

Pretty much always something to do.

But if you find there isn’t, theres always the bus.

big blue bus takes you to santa monica/3rd street for 25¢ with a bruincard… it’s about a 15 minute drive. a lot of students go there to shop/beach/eat when they want to get off campus.

What are you talking about? Freshmen should be studying on weekends
