So, I already have one BS (physics) with a quite lackluster GPA (2.75). I am going back to school for another BS, this time in engineering. I've heard that GPA is important in a lot of cases when trying to find employment after graduation.. so.. How do I calculate my GPA after my next degree? Do I factor in ALL my credits or just the credits I've taken at my most recent degree-granting school? It is quite complex (4 schools, two degrees) and I'm not sure which way is the appropriate way. Thanks.

I don’t have this issue but I think you should list your degrees and the schools you’ve received them from followed by the GPA you obtained for that degree (including transfer credits from the other schools you’ve attended). So for instance I took some courses at community college (CC) but I don’t list the CC I attended since the GPA from CC just got lumped into the GPA from my 4 year degree institution.

I don’t think it’s that complicated. So if I understand your situation you have one BS and are currently working on your second one, correct? So on your resume write down the GPA you have for your first BS. This should be easily obtainable from your schools website when you search for an unofficial transcript. Then do the same for your current degree.

That’s how I would do it at least.
