What do I do during welcome week?

I moved into Tercero two days ago and so far, welcome week has been kind of a let down. I’ve been hanging out with other Freshmen, going downtown and whatnot, but it feels like there’s not a ton to do until classes start. No intramural sports, no clubs, no events, no studying. Is welcome week really just about meeting other freshmen, or am I just oblivious to fun things going on around campus?

Well, last year I didn’t do any of the activities, but here is a list:

The big one is the Aggie Rally tonight:

UC Davis Athletics - Aggie Pack
Event: Aggie Welcome Rally
Date: September, Monday 19th
Time: 8:45 pm-10:00 pm
Location: Aggie Stadium
Sponsored by: Aggie Pack
Aggie Welcome Rally is back! On Monday, September 19 the Aggie Pack will host the annual Aggie Welcome Rally at Aggie Stadium. Learn new traditions, meet student-athletes, get tons of FREE stuff and win great prizes! Make sure to arrive early to get the best seats on the 50-yard line. The fun begins at 8:50pm at Aggie Stadium when gates open. Everyone is welcome, so bring everybody to the Aggie Welcome Rally!

I saw on the list at least one club was having a barbecue before the rally. It looks
like most of the stuff is orientation-type.

Didn’t you receive a pamphlet when you moved in that had a list of events and activities to do during welcome week? Your RA also should’ve mentioned what’s going on during welcome week. Over here in Cuarto, we had Game Night last night and on Tuesday night, there’s supposed to be a BBQ on Hutchinson IM Field.

There’s a bunch of things going on, not all day obviously, but go to events that you find interesting to tide you over till school starts!

Seriously. Tercero’s been kinda low-key, and it’s 90F outside.

Yeah I received a pamphlet, but honestly, only a couple things interest me. Oh well, I’m meeting people and having fun regardless! I was just ready to get on campus and start joining clubs and form IM teams I guess haha.

And yeah, the heat doesn’t help. I get the motivation to do something and am pretty much exhausted by the time I bike there.

frat parties. well not tonight obviously, but monday and tuesday there were definitely hella parties going on. on monday i actually went to aepi and didn’t even remember leaving the house. fun stuff
there’ll be frat parties again starting tomorrow, i think, but i have class earlyish friday so i probably won’t party again until the weekend. there are multiple parties going on during this time of year every year, so if it’s your scene or if you’re trying to figure it out, then you should go out and party.

“and it’s 90F outside”

Are you from the Artic…?

Or must be from Oregon where my friends shelter in place when the temperature rises above 75F…

The bay area has one season. 72F, slightly cloudy.

lol chi, it really does.
