What will your U.S. visa type be?

happymomof1: Thank you for the links… Thats a useful answer, I got from you! & thank you so much everyone for replying & trying to help me out!

If you’re going alone, will you be going to a private, boarding school? If not, do you have family who live in the US and will host you, and in that case will you have a J-1 or an F1?

To go to college, you need to attend 11th and 12th grade (also called junior and senior year). APs are classes. You can choose some of them, if you have the necessary background. You can/should take them during your 11th and 12th grade: they are part of what you study in the 11th and 12th grade, they do not replace 11th or 12th grade.

How is it that you are moving here on your own? What will your immigration status be? That will determine what your options are.

First, let us know about your Visa Status upon arrival. Will it be F-1 or some others.

You do need to attend your Grade 11 & 12 in a school because most colleges focus on your final two years of school. If you go to USA now, you will have to attend two high school year (my emigrated friend did).

If you live in BD, then attend 11 & 12 and then give A levels.

This years A levels gonna be hell because of Hartals! (strike)

Hey everyone,
I have the same case like Tahrima. I completed my O levels with six subjects (Bio,chem, phy, math, bangla & english) from Bangladesh. And i also completed my AS level with three subjects (bio, phy, chem). But i don’t want to complete my A2 level because i know that i will definitely fail after resitting. Now my problem is that, i already applied to Western Kentucky University through Navitas programme which is giving me a pathway to WKU sophomore and i chose pre-pharmacy as my major. The Navitas is offering me 3500$ scholarship out of 21000$ and i already got my offer letter + F-1 visa. However, this is quite expensive for my parents to bear; they are only giving 5000$ for my first semester in Navitas with 1500$ for my expense. Furthermore, my parents won’t be giving further money for my study purpose and this would would result end of my student life. But i don’t want to destroy my future like this, i want to study and a better career.

However, i need funding and financial aid both to sustain myself in USA. In addition, my school gave me transcripts both for O and A levels; and i also has done lots of leadership and volunteering work in my country. Even i haven’t sit for SAT exam, how far i do, the ultimate result will be zero because i didn’t have my overall A’ level result; university would deny me for funding stuffs. And our USA embassy counselor only for good students only, i went there so many times seeking for assistance but they never helped me out.

Please help me, i need your precious worthy advices. Please :’(

You need to take the TOEFL and the SAT or the ACT.
What grades did you get on your O’Levels and on your AS 3-subjects?

Without that information it’s impossible for us to help you.
Provide us with more information :)

Perhaps UNO if you believe you’ll be able to withstand the weather, which is quite different from Bangl.

Thanks for replying, MYOS1634 :)

I took IELTS (score:6.0) and i thought that after going there i would sit for my SAT exam.
In O’ levels i got 1A(bengali), 3B’s (phy,chem&bio) and 2C’s (math & eng).
In AS level i got 2E & 1D. :(

Anyways, can you inform me that if i register for SAT from Bangladesh; is it possible to sit for the exam from Western Kentucky ? After getting visa can i admit myself to another university with my bank statement ?

Please help me out. I am tensed :(
