What do I do!!!

I took the ACT in April without writing and got my best score of a 35 composite, highest score in all sections. I took the SAT in March and got a 2220 with a 10 essay. Since most schools require ACT with essay, should I send in my 30 act from April 2011 with an 8 writing along with the 35 act or would the 35 act alone + sat be better? (for score choice schools)

Depends on the school you are applying to. Some schools might not require the writing on the ACT; in that case, you’re set with your 35.

If they need writing, I recommend taking the ACT again. You have the potential to get another 35/36 but this time you’ll have the writing with it. If you sent the 35+2220, the SAT score would detract from the high 35. But then again, it might not detract. Depends on the eyes of the admissions counselor and that’s something I would think about.

I’m thinking top tier schools. Specifically my concern is Georgetown EA, that doesn’t look at scores from senior year in considering admission, but you must send in all scores to Georgetown regardless. Taking the ACT again is really out of the question, I didn’t take the writing the last time because my writing scores were stagnant the other time. What I meant was for score choice schools like Columbia for example, if I wanted to send in my 35 act would I have to send in another act with writing or would an sat cover that requirement?

Columbia says the writing is required for the ACT, so even if hte requirement is satisfied by the SAT, your 35 might not be looked at if you send it.

On a side note, Columbia requires ALL scores so you would have to send the 30 as well if you decided to send the 35.

If you have been accepted to UNC, those grades won’t get your acceptance rescinded.
