What Do I Do?

I just started my new university this week, I also started my on campus job. I’ve only worked two shifts and I already want to quit. It’s just not what I thought it was going to be.
I’m already stressed out, I feel as though I have no time to study. (Which far from true). I’d rather just be focusing on school.

My mom however says that I shouldn’t be leaving jobs this early. She’s given me the option to quit if needed (we’d have to talk first). But later in the semester.

I’d rather it be now, so that they have time to find a replacement for my shifts.

I guess I just need help with whether or not I should give it more time or try to convince my mom to let me quit now. (Or just quit without telling her which would not be the best option.)

Is this a work-study job? If you don’t work, how will you replace the income? Is your mother counting on you to cover some of your expenses from the money you earn from this job?

I agree with Mom!

Stick it out man and give it time.
