Ok I've been interested in West Point for like 4 years. Im going into my Junior Year. IS there any like calender i can follow for getting in? like when to get a nomination? or when to submit all the stuff. Um so yeah......help.

Pay a visit to the Admissions page: admissions.usma.edu and read through it. Your questions will be answered there. You will apply for your nomination generally in the summer/fall of your Senior year. You will need to have everything to the Academy as early as possible in your Senior Year. They have a rolling admissions, so it helps you if you get your packet complete as early as you can.

Thanks for the quick reply. What is the best way to get a senators nomination? and how do i do that?

Please read the online link above and then ask questions. It is all there, even a sample letter. It also will tell you to see the Senator's website for specific instructions. It does show initiative and desire to be able to work ones way through the application process alone.

Once school starts you should also let your guidance counselor know that you're interested in a service academy. Some Members of Congress (MOC) have an open house in the Fall for those students interested in a service academy; check with your individual MOC's office/website or sometimes your guidance counselor is notified. This is a good opportunity to get "your face seen" by the MOC's staff, even though you'd be a junior and they're concentrating on seniors. It will show your interest. Make sure you introduce yourself to the staffperson, dress well, use manners (sir/ma'am), and ask at least one intelligent question about something that isn't on their website.

It's never too soon to start putting together your Extra-Curricular (EC) resume. It will show where you need to concentrate your efforts (i.e. sports, SAT/ACT exams, GPA, leadership positions, etc.) for your junior and senior years.

The best way to get a nomination is to be a good candidate!
