What do I have to do to be an Early Decision Candidate?

How much does being a early decision candidate help you?

What forms must you have turned in to be an early decision candidate ?

Do you need to have your nominations by November 1st to be considered? (my senators and congressmen do not decide until mid November.)

Must you turn in you Candidate Fitness Assessment by November 1st?

Glenn 66: There is no "early decision" at KP, however, they do start sending out LOA's early-mid December. The sooner you get your application COMPLETE (all the letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc) including CFA, the better chance you have of getting a LOA. If by some chance your nomination is in then you would receive the appointment and forgo the LOA. A LOA is given to a candidate that the Academy feels is qualified and has met the standards and will be given an appointment once the file is complete (ie., nomination, dodmerb physical, etc).

I strongly urge you to complete your application and get it in ASAP. I believe the Evaluation Board for appointments will start Mid-October, so the sooner you get it in the better. PM me if you have any questions and I'll be glad to help.

Its on the first part of the application. It ask if you want to be an early decision candidate.

Yes Glen, even though it is there, it is not really a binding early decision. They did away with early decision and now do a "rolling" admissions. As I said in my last post, the Evaluation Board will begin meeting the middle of October, so get your application in as soon as you can.

Ok, I was wondering why that was on the form and I have gotten different answers when I talked to other people. Thanks for the help.
