What do I need for Stanford?

Hi, currently I'm a freshman in poor high school. We send a few grads over the years to Ivy league schools, so the top proportion of our class is highly competitive.

As a Sophmore I'm looking at:
Physics I H
Chem I H
and all other classes honors

I will be in the top five of my class

I'm fairly athletic and hope to be on varsity tennis and soccer in 10,11,12 grade.

I really want to go to Stanford, I like everything about it. My question is, what do I need to do. I'm really nervous about this now because my friend who had a 2390 on his Sat's got rejected.

I have alot of EC's about 20 each year
Scholastic Scrimmage
Community Youth Orchestra
Local University Orchestra
Jazz Band
Chamber Orchestra
maybe regional/state band/chorus/orchestra

Please tell me what I need, accepted students advice really helps!

There is no “need” for any college. All you can do is try your best and realize that you may not get in. The most important things are your grades and your scores. After that, be sure that you are an interesting person (and don’t just do ECs because it will look good for college), and write a strong essay on your application. Also be sure to visit if possible and show interest through contact with the college. I’m sorry that there’s no magic formula, but good luck.

Right, there is no magic formula. A certain gpa or SAT score won’t get you in or keep you out of a college – it’s the whole package of what your bring to the school. Just try your best.
