<p>if you are not in the top 10% as an out of state student, many would suggest applying is a waste of your time. top 10% will not guarantee you admission however. To give you a sort of baseline out of state student that I would think would be accepted 9 times out of 10 is this… 3.7+, top 10% (weighted or unweighted, does not matter), 27+ ACT or comparable SAT, and two passionate ECs with maybe one leadership position in one activity. They definitely look for involved students. The only way to bypass the 10% rule would be if you’re the next 5 star football recruit or you have maybe a perfect/near perfect test score.</p>
<p>The admissions office doesn’t categorize out-of-state students as top 10% or non-top 10%. They look at the application holistically.</p>
