What do I need to do to get into a Canadian university?

I'm now a junior (just started school), and the focus is already on college. I'd love to go to University of Toronto or Mcgill (seen the campuses but not on a tour, and I really loved them) but being from the US, I'm not really sure what I need to get in. I've heard they don't care about essays, is that true? I'd also love to major in something related to biology, medicine, the brain, psychology, or a combination of those if possible. I don't know if that changes admission requirements.

Also, if anyone has experience with US schools, what are some I can expect to get into with these stats:

ACT: 30
UW GPA: 3.8
Fairly well known high school, if an admission counselor was familiar with the area I live in, he/she would know my school and its academic rigor.

Mainly all honors classes freshman and sophomore year, all classes will be honors or AP junior and senior year. I will have taken about 5 APs by the time I graduate. 2 by the end of this year, US History and AB Calculus, and 3 my senior year - AP stats, AP bio or chem (haven't decided), AP psych. Possibly AP french, but I really like the teacher for the 5th level french class, so I might take that honors instead.

A couple clubs that I'm fairly involved in and passionate about
joining DECA this year
volunteer work with an afterschool program for kids
mini job about 5 hours a week, just to get the experience

Pretend fit is not an issue

I have no idea what the essays will be about, nor the quality, since I'm not applying this year. I also don't know which teachers I'll ask for letters of recommendation yet.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you :)

McGill Neuroscience: Safety
U Toronto life science: Low match

No letters of recommendation, no ECs, unless you are willing to try your hand at UBC… which is a safety, too.

Here are the admission standards for US applicants:

[Admissions standards (US) | Applying to Undergraduate Studies - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/unitedstates)

For Biological, Biomedical and
Life Sciences:

B+/A- average in grades 10,
11 and 12;
A- in each prerequisite
math and science;
each SAT I and II 670 (SAT I Critical Reading and Writing 650) or
ACT 29
Getting accepted into McGill is like completing a checklist, since you meet all the standards that are listed you should get in. UofT is less open with its requirements but it generally has similar admission standards as McGill so I would believe that you should get in there too.

Good Luck!

thanks Catria and NamelesStatistic :)
