What do I need to do to get into Cornell?

I'm currently a Sophmore. I am in the second year of the Cambridge Program and I am also taking duel enrollment classes at a local college. I was a cheerleader last year as well as a representative in SGA, and this year I am playing Volleyball and planning on participating in NHS. I have a GPA weighted 3.95 unweighted 3.62. Havent taken SAT or ACT yet but I got a 172 on the PSAT last year (I think I take it again this year). I rank 24th in my class of 477. I really want to go to Cornell and I want to know what else I should do to make that a reality.

I’m sure you have all the necessary things to get into Cornell (grades, ECs, etc.), but if the PSAT was an accurate representation of your future SAT score, you won’t get into Cornell. Shoot for at least 2100 on the SAT (so hopefully at least 200 on the PSAT), and try the ACT, too.

Good luck! :)

Try to stay in whatever EC you do for all four years. Keep on acing all your classes. Look for activities that resemble your major. You have over a year to rack up some awards/clubs that define who you are. Just be yourself and be dedicated and start taking the real ACT/SAT now. It can’t hurt.
